They can make fantastic pieces of jewellery either used alone or mixed and matched to make up a whole new set of jewellery, necklace, earrings, bracelets, rings…even keyrings and phone charms!

What beads you decide to wear can say wonders about your personality. I love it when jewellery is worn to compliament an outfit, but I love it even more when jewellery is worn to make an outfit. Try it next time you’re going out, decide on what colour jewellery you are wearing, whether they’re large or small beads and whether its a long necklace or choker style depending on the neckline of the dress/top you’re wearing.

My favourite beads of the moment are Millefiori, beautiful glass beads which are named after the italian for thousands of flowers; “mille” meanding thousands and “fiori” flowers. This is shown through the glasswork technique which creates them and produces a distinctive flower pattern on each bead. These beads come in various colours and shapes and look very elegant. Many of the pieces found on L.F.J are made up of Millefiori beads and never look out of place when worn dressed up for the evening or dressed down during the day.

I started making jewellery about eighteen months ago. It started as a hobby; creating necklaces and bracelets for myself. However, friends and family all complimented me on my designs and requested that I make them pieces to give as gifts. So, I decided that if they enjoyed unique hand made jewellery as much as I did there must be plenty more of us out there! I have recently started using Fimo clay to make my own charms. I am currently working on ice creams, lollipops and candy canes, some of which already feature on the website. Keep an eye out as there will be many more charms to choose from very soon!
